Yesterday, genuine, gencan, rachel, angie and I ventured into the city of Ottawa to watch Jamie Cullum perform at the Ottawa Jazz Festival.
It was the best concert i've EVER been to in my whole entire life. SO good so good so good i don't know what else to say about him, he is so goood that i want to burst out crying now. HAHAA.
Highlights (pre and post show):
- talking to rachel for the WHOLE day non stop :)
- buying jamie shirts
- mango lasee that was WAAY over-priced
- stealing chairs
- talking some more with rachel until she eventually fell asleep when we got back to toronto
- watching sonya kitchell before jamie..and falling asleep.
- being all EXCITEDDD for jamie
- sitting in the car with numb butts
- driving for the last 2.5 hours of the trip back to toronto
Highlights of the show:
- JAMIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!
- absolutely flawless performance- vocally, instrumentally, it was STELLAR, TOP NOTCH
- jamie's beat boxing
- his different renditions of--> pussy cat dolls- dontcha; kanye- gold digger, white stripes- seven nation army; elton john- rocket man
- the piano beat hitting (i dont know what to call it haha)
- how he managed to engage old geezers to dance flamenco for the whole 2 hours
- jamie jumping down from the piano
- ahhhhhhh his SKILLS give me so much shivers. did you know he TAUGHT HIMSELF how to play piano? and guitar? and beat boxing? and the drumming? (according to wikipedia) OMG!!!!!! I LOVE YOU JAMIE
- it was an AMAZING spectacle, he is an AMAZZZING performer
- solo's by sebastiaan the drummer, and tom the percussionist, geoff the bass guy did not do a solo! poo!
even though i didn't get to see jamie in toronto in march, going to ottawa with cool people and paying for his show for $25 OUTDOORS was ALL worth it.
i love you jamie, i hope you don't read this blog post. or else it will be awkward. haha.
