the "hello" post below was a mistake post..haha but since people commented, "hello to you too" hehe
random conversations/quotes/happenings/things that stuck out to me this week...
1. The topic of "guys" came up while B and steph were walking me to class on wednesday. (yes, our favourite topic...HAHA)....this is how the convo went..somewhat:
me: "do you think you're ready for a bf?"
b: "um...no..you?"
me: "i don't think i'm ready at all.no..nah..no"
me (again): "do you believe in fate and destiny?"
b: "if you can show me hard, concrete proof, then i will believe in it"
2. "so let's say you're a guy, and you really love this other guy, but you only love THAT guy, and the rest of the time you like women..so what are you? gay? bi? just...very in love with a friend? what?" (said by a friend, it's paraphrased though)
3. james (my coworker, pun) and I were just talking about working today..he asked me when i was going to quit, and i said soon, one of the reason is because i don't like watching people leave and i'd rather detach myself from the place so i won't have to "bear" to see people go.
perhaps it's a selfish reason...i don't want to see people move on without me. i hate that feeling. it's like i'm phobic to people moving on without me. seriously.
4.every week, this church that i walk past everyday changes up their billboard with really cool quotes. This week was no exception. The day before i read this quote, i planned out everything i needed to do for the rest of the term so i could be more organized. What really spurred me to make such detailed study timetable and goals was because i was so lost as to where i wanted to be and do...but i still couldn't...i guess i can't expect to have an immediate answer. This quote really helped put some of my thoughts into perspective, "We have to get rid of the life we've planned so as to have the life that is waiting for us." -Joseph Campbell
Perhaps "knowing" too much of what you want can, in contrast, hinder. Perhaps God wants our future to seem bleak, so we could learn to trust in Him. Uncertainty always brings one closer to Him as we have to learn to depend.
5. my finger nails and hair grew quite rapidement-ly

faith
how come #4 is so hard to read?
1. how do you show concrete proof of fate and destiny?
2. when you look at it in a guy's perspective.. it seems like they're gay or bi... but if you look at it in a girl's perspective.. it seems normal to love your girl friend(s) a lot.
3.i do the detaching thing too...
4. yah.. what is the point in planning out our whole life.. when most likely God's gonna break that plan of ours and show us a better one?
5. DON'T BITE YOUR NAILS!
6. i'm sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo sad that they're not together anymore. they were like... THE pefect couple. ok.. maybe not. but they look so right together. *sob*
only 2 comments? lol i'm so surprised.
1. yuo're not ready or you're not not ready. it just happens. it's not like you plan, i'm gonna look for a boyfriend now, and it comes. that's what's so cool about it :) o and btw, there is no such thing as concrete proof for fate. it's a force, something you can't see....you just have to believe it or not.
2. ...i think that depends whether you are having "sexual" feelings about that guy. or you just love them....in an affectionate way. because that shows your sexual orientation.
3. i have that phobia too. until i've had every single person really close to me walk away from me and move on. that is, my mom, my dad, my grandmother, my ex boyfriend, my best friend(s)...and it's never going to end. that's why we're called to depend that way onyl on God. that's why God is our best friend. that's why...you can't depend on humans. they're not perfect, they can't be there 100% of the time, it'll never be that way. but God tells you not to be afraid. because he has better things planned and in store for you. i remember having this conversation with you before...i wish i could talk to you more about it. but in person. just call me :)
4. that's a really inspiring quote. i think often we forget that our life is a constant revelation of God has prepared for us. i know for me, i get extremely disappointed when my day doesn't go as planned. but i guess sometimes there are special circumstances that call for divergence...and in the end, you learn more valuable lessons, too :) and what kind of church is this?
5. i wish mine did :(
6. all celebrities split when they're both successful. i don't even know why they bother getting married in the first place. it's like every celebrity MUST have at least one marriage and one divorce. good grief.
and by the way, i'm not going to ever "move on" without you....in the larger sense. it's just nto my "style" to leave people behind. so don't worry
